The Holiday Dinner was a great success for our first year. Thanks to everyone who spent time and energy to put it together. We served about 125 people including several from the community who were in need this Christmas season. The entertainment was a cute children’s play about the nativity.
We took time aside on October 30, 2011 to visit several different nursing/rehabilitation facilities. The goal: to love on people. WHY SERVE? Jesus said that we should love our neighbors as we love ourselves (Mark 12:30). Because we love Jesus, we want to do what He says!
The Silo Food Pantry can be thought of as a community hub and a gathering place for sharing with those in need. It is a member agency with San Antonio Food Bank and an umbrella ministry for several benevolence efforts in the New Braunfels community.
